Meet Kelly Guglielmo
1. What first interested you in Porsche?
After I drove a friend’s 911 Targa when I was 19.
2. What was your first Porsche and why did you purchase it?
1970 914 with some minor mods...so I knew it would be a little extra performance. I was only 21, but determined to have it.
3. What are your interests (hobbies)?
Friends, family, cars, motorcycles, skydiving, crafts/creating, shopping, spa days & other girlie stuff.
4. What type of work do you do and if you are retired, what did you do?
Escrow Officer for 30 years, and I still love it. I won’t be retiring for a while…
5. What is your current Porsche?
2006 Carrera Cabriolet.
6. What do you like about your Porsche?
Definitely the performance 1st, I love the feeling of acceleration, and the lateral g-force through the turns. Also, it’s beautiful to look at.
7. What options do you wish it included?
I wish it WASN’T black and WASN’T a convertible. I’m still on the fence about the tiptronic…
8. Is this your daily driver and if not, when do you drive it?
Not my daily driver, but I will drive it to work occasionally, more often on the weekends.
9. What type of driving do you like to do (i.e. spirited, country winding roads, long interstate trips)?
Definitely prefer the spirited driving, but I have enjoyed the tours as well, I just have a hard time staying off the gas pedal…
10. What activities do you enjoy doing with the Diablo Region?
I’ve only done a couple tours, but I can’t wait to do a Track Day. I would also be interested in doing an autocross to improve my skills.
11. Is there any particular event that stands out as most enjoyable?
I don’t have many to compare to, but Carlos’ tour to Coppola Winery for lunch was really nice and well thought out…
12. Is there any activity the Diablo Region does not provide that you would like to do?
More track days come to mind…
13. If you could have any Porsche, what would it be and why?
Well, first I must say that I would love an opportunity to drive (on the track) a GT2 RS or GT3 RSR, or any higher level Porsche that’s been set up for racing. But to HAVE...I want to win the 2012 Porsche 991 with pdk-sport chrono through the PCA raffle!! Wish me luck!! You know why I want it...I love that PDK!
