Memorial Service for Jacquie Lietz Jan 14th

Details

Jacquie LietzIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of Jacquie Lietz on Monday, December 23rd. In addition to her many accomplishments and virtues, Jacquie dedicated a great deal of time and energy to Diablo, and she will be missed.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 14th at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, 399 Wiget Lane in Walnut Creek at 1:30PM, with a reception to follow. Instead of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Friends of Civic Arts Education Foundation. (Click the Read More link below for the full text of the obituary.)

Jacqueline H. Lietz
April 14, 1950 - December 23, 2013

Jacquie peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jacquie's competitive spirit led her to be one of the nation's top riders. As an adult she remained active in the horse community, judging and stewarding shows.

Jacquie worked for Walnut Creek's Civic Arts Education Program and loved greeting everyone with a smile and helping plan special events at Shadelands.

Together, Jacquie and Walt traveled to over 20 countries. She loved experiencing new cultures and filling her trip with every Rick Steves suggestion.

Jacquie had a generous heart and loving spirit that lived to help others. Some of her greatest memories were volunteering for Scottsdale Squids, Aquabears, Aquanuts, Guide Dogs, and Porsche Club of America.

She is survived by Walt, her devoted husband of 37 years, her daughters Heather Maddox and Heidi McMillan, along with their husbands Jason Maddox, Danny McMillan, and her 6 darling grandchildren; Scott, Tyler, Roman, Kira, Paisley and Blake as well as her beloved “Jersey” Family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Civic Arts Education Foundation (www.friendsartsed.org), which provides art scholarships for children.

A celebration of her life will be held at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, 399 Wiget Lane, Walnut Creek, CA on Tuesday, January 14th at 1:30 PM followed by a reception.
