Ed's Comments, January 2014

Ed WonI hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I wish you all a Happy New Year! What a year it has been;met a lot of new faces and reconnected with our regulars. Thank you all for coming out to the events and helping make them fun-filled.

I want to thank Bob and Christi Hilton for hosting the Christmas party at their home. More than a few folks told me what a great time they had and what great hosts the Hiltons were. The drive through the neighborhood was nice as well; good thing I didn't lead the group. Folks who went to the Grand Island tour and Kelly G. know what I mean. The white elephant gift exchange was mild in my group compared to other groups whendropped in on them. When there's wine, it's game time.

Thank you all for bringing the wonderful calorie-free treats I enjoyed at the party. Miraculously, I ate a ton and didn't gain a pound.

I hope to see you in January at our Annual awards event at the Blackhawk Museum. Thank you Elsie Lum for helping with the setup of the event. The cost includes a nice buffet catered by Scott's Seafood and admission to the Museum. We will have docents for the guided tours. If you haven't registered yet, the event is available for registration in the goodie store.

The winter break is almost over and your Diablo board will be back at work setting up events for 2014. Thank you board and chairs for your hard work.

A sad note to end the year, we lost Jacquie Lietz during the holidays. Those of you who knew Jacquie remember her tireless energy and devotion to the club and members. She touched a lot of folks including me. You'll forever be in our hearts Jacquie.
