Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta/State Railroad Museum Tour

Date:  Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Costs:  $16.00/person (includes docent led tour of State Railroad Museum)

Lunch is pay as you go. Because of the number of restaurants in the area, no reservations will be made by the tour leader. 

Please purchase one REQUIRED - Scenic Drive ticket (so we can collect your vehicle information) per vehicle/order and one REQUIRED Railroad Museum Tour ticket (required for the docent led tour) for each passenger in the vehicle.

This event is limited to 15 Porsches. If you wish to drive a vehicle other than a Porsche, please contact the Tour Leader.

Starting Location:  Rudgear Road Park & Ride (please see map) We will assemble at 9:30 AM at the Rudgear Road Park & Ride. Please arrive with your tanks full and your bladders empty. There are no facilities at this location.

Join us for a weekday tour to the Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta, Old Town Sacramento, and the historic Town of Locke. We will enjoy a great back-roads drive through the Delta to the State Railroad Museum for a docent-led tour. After the tour, there will be time for lunch and a tour of the Old Sacramento State Historic Park before leaving for a drive through the Town of Locke which was built by Chinese immigrants during the early 20th century. From there we will return to the Rudgear Road Park & Ride.

Route:
Starting on I-680 North, we will take CA-4 to CA-160 to Sacramento. We will return going South on I-5 to Twin Cities Rd and River Roads to Locke. From Locke we will take CA-160 S to CA-4 and CA-242 S.

Schedule:

9:30 AM  Assemble

9:45 AM  Pre-drive briefing

10:00 AM  Depart

11:15 AM  Arrive at California State Railroad Museum for tour (Park on top floor of garage; elevators are available).

12:00 PM  Lunch at individually selected restaurants and tour of Historic District

1:15 PM  Assemble at cars

1:30 PM  Depart from Old Town Sacramento

2:00 PM  Arrive at Locke for bathroom stop and walk/drive through the Town of Locke

2:30 PM  Depart Locke

3:30 PM  Arrive at the Rudgear Road Park & Ride
