Wine to Redwoods Tour
Date: July 26, 2019, Assemble at 7:30 AM (see schedule below)
Departure Location: Alamo Plaza Shopping Center (between Great Donuts and Bagel St. Cafe), Stone Valley Road and Danville Blvd., Alamo.
Costs: $36.00/person (includes picnic lunch and dinner). The required Scenic Drive tickets include the picnic lunch and dinner. There is an addional out-of-pocket fee of $10.00 per vehicle to enter the Drive-thru Tree Park. Hotel rooms are out of pocket.
We strongly suggest that you register your vehicle for Fastrak. We will be crossing the Benicia bridge during the morning commute. Without a Fastrak you will be delayed in the cash lanes and may not be able to rejoin the group.
Private Wine Tasting (Optional) - $25.00/person (maximum of 20 people)
Please purchase one Scenic Drive - Driver ticket per car and one Scenic Drive - Passenger ticket for each passenger in the car,
As we are a Porsche Club, this event is limited to Porsches only.
Sign-up closes on July 21, 2019. Priority will be given to PCA Diablo members but will open up to all PCA members by June28, 2019. Please book your hotel rooms prior to July 5, 2019. After this date the reserved room block will be released.
Join us for a scenic tour through the Sonoma Valley, stopping for a picnic lunch (included) at the Dry Creek Vineyard and an optional private wine tasting (separate fee). After lunch, continue north on Highway 101 stopping at the Chandelier Drive-thru Tree for a photo opp. (Which of our cars will fit through the tree?). We then continue north through the Avenue of the Giants ending in Eureka, CA. Dinner (included) will be at at the historic Samoa Cookhouse, the last remaining cookhouse in the West. A block of rooms are reserved at the Red Lion Hotel Eureka.
This tour ends on Friday evening. However, you are welcome to spend the weekend on your own attending the Fortuna Redwood AutoXpo in Fortuna or exploring the redwoods.
We arranged a block of 15 rooms at the Red Lion Hotel in Eureka at a discounted rate from $140/night plus tax. This is out of pocket. You will need to call (707) 445-0844 and let them know you are with the Diablo PCA to book your own room. You may book for one or two evenings. These rooms will be released on July 5, 2019. Other accomodations may be available but many of the hotels are booked due to the Fortuna Redwood AutoXpo. I encourage you to make your arrangements ASAP.

There is a scheduled stop for gas in Ukiah, approximately half-way through the tour (approximately 145 miles from the start of the tour) as well as several stops for bio-breaks.
