I have participated in numerous DE Events, car shows, and Concours events. I've led several tours (both one day and overnight) and started our mid-week tour programs. I organized a charity event. I've hosted a Holiday Party. I have served numerous times as Zone 7 Concours Judge and WERKS Judge. I recently attended Shasta Region's Zone 7 Tour event. I've been fortunate to participate in two Parades and Porsche’s Sport Driving School at Barber Motorsports Park.
What similar activities to this Board position have you performed with other organizations, e.g., community services, professional associations, public agencies, or other organizations, e.g., PTA, Scouting etc.?
I founded and served as managing partner of a thirty-member consulting firm and also served as President of the Bay Area Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants. I was a member of the Finance Committee of the City of Saratoga for several years. I was a Deacon and Treasurer of my church. I served as President of a non-profit charity providing chaplain services to cancer patients.
What talents and skills do you bring to the Board?
I have a history of providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating people to achieve organizational success using an inclusive and participatory style. I have planning, organization, management, and financial skills that are important to this role.
What would you like to achieve while serving on the Diablo Region Board?
I want to maintain the success and expand access to our current driver education, tour, and event activities while expanding those activities to meet the interests of our diverse members (e.g., technical programs or virtual racing.) I’d like to see enhancements to our current social media program, so we effectively reach existing and potential members.
What more would you like us to know about your qualifications to serve on the Diablo Region Board?
I am passionate about Porsche, as reflected in my small collection that includes a 356, 930, Carrera RS Clone, GT3, and Targa. More importantly, I appreciate the great friendships that develop through Diablo events. "It's not just the cars; it's the people.”

- Enthusiasm for the Club and for Porsche cars
What would you like to achieve while serving on the Diablo Region Board?
- Provide advice and support for people new to planning events with the Diablo Region
- Integrate more with other local PCA regions

I have served on many boards over the years and each board is very different depending upon the organization, some include the Windrush School Board (Oversight Committee); Alameda County Food Bank Board (Oversight Committee); National Forum for Black Public Administrators (Vice President); Black Economic Board and President; Tri-Valley Estate Planning Council (President); Jr Achievement (Volunteer); Business Leaders United (Principal)
I like to roll up my sleeve and get things done. I write well, speak well and can represent on organization well. I’m a good organizer and I’m generally able to fix problems within an organization and implement new and better ways of doing things by bringing in new ideas.
I would like to assist wherever needed, and help the chapter become more efficient in areas that need it. I would also like to participate in discussions geared to helping chapter business owners grow their business. Perhaps it would be a great idea to have a member make a 3 minute presentation on something interesting, something related to his / her business or simply take 30 seconds to share with members “what they do”. There is a wealth of talent and very smart members in the chapter ... we need to tap into those resources whenever we can.
I have a lot of experience serving on boards and I understand how boards work and what it takes to be part of an effective board. My background is in financial services and marketing ... Xerox copier sales, ITT PBX sales, Merrill Lynch stockbroker, Insurance Agency Owner, inventor with a patent ... these experiences don’t necessarily make me more qualified but a variety of experiences can make a big difference.

What similar activities to this Board position have you performed with other organizations e.g., community services, professional associations, public agencies, or other organizations e.g., PTA, Scouting etc.?
Served 11 years on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. The AMA is similar in size to the PCA in membership levels, annual income, and net worth. I was elected 4 times to represent 28,000 members in California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Hawaii, and Guam. I was one of 14 BOD members responsible for oversite of the organization.
What talents and skills do you bring to the Board?
I spent 35 years working in the Aerospace and Airline industries as an Engineer. During that time, I handled many complex projects that required considerable effort. I believe this gives me skills to help plan and manage events, issues, and people.
What would you like to achieve while serving on the Diablo Region Board?
I would like to involve members in our activities. Expand offerings in technical topics such as light owner maintenance and help the Diablo Region be recognized as an innovator in best practices for a PCA region.
