*important*

This an event run and not a tour that ends with lunch, as such, there are very few straights and mostly 2-3 gear turns throughout the run. This event will be difficult for passengers due to the number of turns.  It requires you to be alert to bad asphalt, blind turns, obscure turns as a result of shade/sun, slow cars, bicycles, ocassional animals and most importantly watching and keeping a distance from the car in front of you. It requires minimum breaking, but keeping an eye out on the break lights in front of you! If you need to break it was because you meant it.  Carlos Bocanegra

Fun Run starts: Safeway, Bernal, 8:45am  for driver's meeting This is a route 130 run.

Depart Safeway 9am, no freeway, pass under Freeway, take left along Foothill, make a left at we will eventually start along Calaveras road (caution begins) all the way down Sierra highway to the freeway. From the Freeway to Alumn Rock and up the hill to and past Mt. Hamilton (observatory). Road reads 40 mph maximum, for me it is difficult to achieve 40 on the uphil all the while alert to the right hand berms. We will proceed downhill at a reasonable pace cautious of section with loose gravel from the asphalt.  We will take a rest at the Del Puerto Canyon cutoff. We will continue eastward until we reach Diablo Grande Parkway (close to Hwy 5/Patterson).  We will go right to the Counry Club for an outdoor lunch (10 miles). There will be a delay entering the gated community. Each car will be asked for License Plate and name and destination.  To lunch may take up to 3 hours of following the tail of the diablo through all of the turns.

It will be hot with minimum rest stops. (thismay be adjusted for the weather). Bring plenty of water for the event, and I suggest a light breakfast and easy on the coffee.
