Threads & Treads
Date: Second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Location: Black Bear Diner, 807 Camino Ramon (corner of Sycamore Valley Rd. & Camino Ramon), Danville, CA
Costs: No host dinner at Black Bear Diner (order off the menu)
Threads & Treads began in 2017 as an alternative way for Diablo members to get together, support the Region, develop new friendships and find ways to give back to our community.
We meet at 6:00 - 9:00 in a private room at the back of the restaurant. We will be given separate checks and are able to order off the menu. After we fill our tummies we will start working on blankets or whatever project you have. Anyone is welcome, even if they don’t know how to knit or crochet. We have people that will help.
We have accomplished so much in these years:
We made donations of handmade hats and blankets to local hospitals, each item tagged indicating it is from Diablo Region PCA.
We have members who first attended not knowing how to knit or crochet and now have contributed blankets and have skills that amaze everyone.
Our efforts have been recognized within Diablo Region and nationally and have been published in Panorama.
All these accomplishments are very rewarding and make us all feel very proud. Not only do the members donate their time to create these items, but they also use their own funds to purchase all the materials. If you would like to support us in our continued assistance to our communities, consider making a small donation towards the purchase of materials. You can donate to Treads and Threads at the annual New Member Summer Picnic.
We are always looking for more members to join us. However, if your schedule does not allow you to come to the bi-monthly meetings, you can always create blankets or hats at your home and then give them to us for our donations.
