Diablo PCA provides a welcoming and engaging community that enriches our member's Porsche ownership experience. What's New New - 5/24/2023, For the May Diablo dinner in Solano County we've decided to mix it up. We will be gathering at Pietro's #1 in Vacaville for Porsches and Pizza at Pietro's. Pietro's is a wonderful family-owned restaurant that has been operating at the same location since 1957. They have delicious pizza and Italian specialties to choose from. This will be a special dinner that you'll want to attend. Please note there are two Pietro's in Vacaville, we will be at #1 which is at 407 Cernon St. In June we will return to our monthly dinner at the Mankas Grill. Sign up today, we are limited to 35 people so don't miss out. New - 5/28/2023 - 39th Annual Car Show, join us for our Annual Memorial Day Car Show and Charity event at the Livery in Danville. This fun people's choice event includes a car show, music, street tacos provided by Luna Loca, and raffle prizes with donations going to Paws for Purple Hearts. Click here to register for this event. New - Our second DE of the year is scheduled for Friday, June 23, 2023, at Thunderhill on the popular East (3-mile) track. Registration open on Friday, April 21, 2023, at noon. Consider making it a 3-day weekend, the Golden Gate Region will be at Thunderhill on Saturday and Sunday, June 24-25, 2023. DE Instructors, we would appreciate it if you could sign-up early. This helps us with confirming Beginners w/Instruction. Click here to register for the event. 5/14/2023 - 6th Annual Porsches & Pups Tour, this is the sixth annual tour that started 2017. It has slowly been growing as more Porsche owners are choosing to bring their Furkids with them on their adventures! The tour will depart from Dennys in Fremont towards Monterey. We will have a scenic drive through Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Watsonville, Moss Landing, and Seaside before heading to Islands in Monterey for lunch. New - 5/17/2023 - Little Tail of the Dragon, join us for a midweek tour to the Little Tail of the Dragon. Starting in Livermore, we will head east through Manteca, Oakdale, and Knights Ferry to Chinese Camp. From Chinese Camp we will head south to Hwy 49, traveling through Coulterville to Bear Valley Road. From Bear Valley Road we will head southwest to Horintos, then north to La Grange where we will take Hwy 132 west to Modesto. As Diablo Region members, we enjoy an active calendar of driving tours, DE days, social events and other club activities throughout the year. These events simply don't happen organically. It takes the combined efforts of many volunteers to make the magic happen. If you are interested in helping out, we can surely use your help. Tours 4/28-30/2023 - Paso Robles/Carrizo Plain Tour, the tour will depart on April 28th from Raley's in Pleasanton. We will drive to King City for a bring your own picnic lunch going down highways 680, 101, 25, 198 and 101. After lunch we will drive along Jolan Road to Lake Nacimiento Road, and highways 24 and 101 arriving at La Quinta Inn in Paso Robles. Participants will have free time before a bring your own to share wine and cheese tasting at the Inn, before heading to Jeffrey's Wine Country BBQ for dinner. On April 29th we will leave at 9:00 am for a drive to see wildflowers out on the Carrizo plain using highways 41, 229, and 58. After leaving the plain we will visit Blackwell's (James Deans last known stop). From there, we'll return to Paso Robles for a spectacular lunch at Eberle Winery's Wild Boar Room. After lunch, participants will have free time before joining together for dinner at one of several preselected and reserved restaurants. On Sunday, we'll leave the Inn at 10:00 am driving highway 46 to 1 and up to Carmel Valley where we'll complete our tour with a lunch at the famous Baja Cantina and Grill in Carmel Valley. Last day to register is Saturday, April 1, 2023. 5/9/2023 - Safari West Tour, Safari West, African wildlife, and BBQ lunch on a Porsche trip (without the plan ride). Starting in Vallejo we will take Hwy 780 and 37 to Sears Point, continue north on 121/116 and 12, take Calistoga Road to Porter Creek Road to Safari West. At Safari West we will have a walking tour and jeep ride through the preserve to see the African animals, followed by a BBQ lunch. Click here for additional information and to register for the tour. 6/10/2023 - Old Sacramento Tour, please join us on a drive through the Delta. We will depart the Fairfield Costco and travel eastbound on Interstate 80 to eastbound California Highway 12. We will go through the city of Rio Vista before turning onto Highway 160. We will travel along the Sacramento River up to Clarksburg and the Old Sugar Mill. Here we will have a stop where you can enjoy several wineries tasing rooms. After our break we will continue onto Old Town Sacramento where you can enjoy dining and shopping on your own and with friends.
7/21-23/2023 - Redwoods, Roads, Route 1 Tour, join us for an overnight tour to northern California. On Friday we will drive by Lake Berryessa and stop for lunch in Lakeport (Clear Lake). From there we will drive through the Redwoods on the Avenue of the Giants. On the second day, you may join us for a drive in the area, visit the Fortuna Auto Xpo, or explore the area on your own. Our drive back on Sunday will take us along Hwy 1 to Hwy 128 where we will head east to Hwy 101, ending the tour in Petaluma. We have a block of rooms reserved for tour participants at the historic Scotia Lodge.
If you are aware of some fun roads to drive, or an interesting destination, please contact the Tour Committee (Susie George, This email address is being protected from spambots. We are always looking for fun opportunities to take our cars out for a ride. The Tour Committee will work with you to make it happen. Be prepared to sign-up for tours as soon as registration is open. If you are unable to register for the tour, add your name to the waitlist in case of cancellations. We will take Hwy 37 to Marin County and visit several local Farmstead Cheese companies along the way. Lunch will be at the Valley Ford Creamery. Sold out.
