I have served on many boards over the years and each board is very different depending upon the organization, some include the Windrush School Board (Oversight Committee); Alameda County Food Bank Board (Oversight Committee); National Forum for Black Public Administrators (Vice President); Black Economic Board and President; Tri-Valley Estate Planning Council (President); Jr Achievement (Volunteer); Business Leaders United (Principal)

I like to roll up my sleeve and get things done. I write well, speak well and can represent on organization well. I’m a good organizer and I’m generally able to fix problems within an organization and implement new and better ways of doing things by bringing in new ideas.

I would like to assist wherever needed, and help the chapter become more efficient in areas that need it. I would also like to participate in discussions geared to helping chapter business owners grow their business. Perhaps it would be a great idea to have a member make a 3 minute presentation on something interesting, something related to his / her business or simply take 30 seconds to share with members “what they do”. There is a wealth of talent and very smart members in the chapter ... we need to tap into those resources whenever we can.

I have a lot of experience serving on boards and I understand how boards work and what it takes to be part of an effective board. My background is in financial services and marketing ... Xerox copier sales, ITT PBX sales, Merrill Lynch stockbroker, Insurance Agency Owner, inventor with a patent ... these experiences don’t necessarily make me more qualified but a variety of experiences can make a big difference.
