Apple Hill Tour/Placerville Oktoberfest

Costs:  $10.00 per car

Please purchase one REQUIRED - Scenic Drive - Driver ticket (so we can collect your vehicle information) per vehicle/order and one Scenic Drive - Passenger ticket for each person in the vehicle.

As we are a Porsche Club, this event is limited to Porsches only.

Starting at the Buttercup in Walnut Creek, this tour will take us on Highway 160 through the delta, Highway 12 through the Central Valley, and continue northeast on Highways 88 and 49 through Placerville, ending at Boa Vista Orchard in the middle of Apple Hill. At the end of the tour, you are free to explore the Apple Hill area on your own and join the Placerville Oktoberfest celebration.

Boa Vista Orchards is a fifth-generation family farm offering a diverse selection of fresh produce, delicious baked goods, crisp apple ciders, flavorful wines, picturesque vistas, and family friendly services. A barbeque lunch is available at Boa Vista Orchard, or you are free to explore other places to eat in the area.

Representing over 50 local, family farms, the Apple Hill Growers are dedicated to supporting agriculture in their community. Founded in 1964 with just 16 apple ranches, they have now grown to include unique fruit & vegetable farms, bakeshops, wineries, a Bed & Breakfast Inn, flower gardens, and Christmas tree farms. Their winding roads and scenic beauty have been a popular destination for over 50 years. Enjoy the fruits of the Apple Hill Growers any time of the year.

When you are done exploring the Apple Hill area, visit the Placerville Oktoberfest (3-9 PM on Main Street by the Bell Tower). This is a family friendly, free event. They are bringing a little bit of Bavaria to Main Street. Fresh bratwurst dinner plates, warm German pretzels, cold beer and outstanding local wines. There will be lots of activities for all ages. the Center Street parking structure offers 2 hours of free parking.

Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM - Assemble at Buttercup, 660 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek
  • 9:15 AM - Mandatory Drivers' meeting
  • 9:30 AM - Depart
  • 10:30 AM - Bio-break, Lodi
  • 12:30 PM - Arrive Boa Vista Orchards

This route, one-way, is approximately 125 miles.

Route: Driving directions will be sent to participants approximately 1 week prior to the tour.

Drivers are responsible for the proper function and safety of their vehicles. Your vehicle should be well maintained with brakes and tire tread above the minimum wear levels. Know the location of all the safety equipment of your vehicle. Sweep vehicles are available for your safety, not to repair your vehicle.
