And how do you get the maximum horsespower out of you Porsche? Tuning on a chassis dynamometer is the preferred method. Come join us as we discuss and demonstrate everything "Dyno" on Saturday, February 17th from 10:00 am to noon at BRG Racing (110 Second Ave. S, Unit D12, Plesant Hill, CA 94553.) We will mount and tune a Porsche in a live demonstration. A light lunch and beverages sponsored by Porboys German Auto Service are included. Registration is open now. 2/24/2024 - Lunar New Year Tour, Join us in celebrating the Lunar New Year with a scenic drive starting at the Buttercup in Walnut Creek and ending at the Mayflower restaurant in Dublin for a pre-ordered Dim Sum lunch. See the Recurring Events Section below for additional details. 3/11/2024 - General Membership Meeting, the Diablo Board of Directors invites you to our Annual General Membership Meeting on March 11, 2024, at 6 PM. The venue will be the Black Bear Diner, located at 807 Camino Ramon, Danville, CA 94526. During the meeting, Bob Hilton, Diablo President, will provide a summary of our activities in 2023 and our plans for 2024. Treasurer Kirk Doberenz will also present the financial results of our operations in 2023 and the budget for 2024. During the meeting, you may inspect the monthly 2023 Board meeting minutes and 2023 Monthly Treasurers reports. We encourage all members to attend and listen to the presentation, ask questions, and make suggestions. 3/14/2024 - Dinner at Mankas Grill. See the Recurring Events Section below for additional details. 3/20/2024 - Dinner at Fat Maddies, See the Recurring Events Section below for additional details. 3/23/2024 - Berryessa Tour, join us on a beautiful drive from Fairfield through Wooden Valley to Lake Berryessa. We will continue north passing through Pope Valley and Middletown before turning south towards the Napa Valley. We will pass through Calistoga ending at Gott’s Roadside Cafe where we will enjoy lunch, which will be no host. Please plan to join us for this beautiful Spring drive. Registration opens soon. 4/5/2024 - Diablo Region DE at Thunderhill 3-mile, join us for our first DE of the year on the popular 3-mile track at Thunderhill. Our goal for the day is to "Drive Fast, Have Fun, and Be Safe". If you are a beginner, we will put an instructor in the car with you. As there are a limited number of Instructors, sign-up early if you would like an instructor. Golden Gate Region will be at the same track on Saturday and Sunday, so why not make it a two- or three-day weekend. Registration is via MotorsportReg. Registration opens on Friday, February 16, 2024, at noon. See the Driver Education section below for additional details. 4/13/2024 - Ladies Only Tour, join us for a ladies only tour starting in Marin County and ending in Sonoma County. The tour will start at the Buttercup in Walnut Creek, travel north on I680 to I780. We will take Hwy 37 to Marin County. Our first stop will be at Nicasio Valley Cheese Company. Lunch will be at Valley Ford Cheese & Creamery (preset menu, included). After lunch we will head to Jack London Village for chocolates at Wine Country Chocolates and wine tasting at Passaggio a women owned winery. Tours If you are aware of some fun roads to drive, or an interesting destination, please contact the Tour Committee Chair (Carolyn Wong Registration for tours and other events is done via Eventbrite (you will need to create an account with Eventbrite to register for a tour). Watch for a link to the registration site in this section of the ENews or on our website. Tours often sell out the same day tickets go on sale. Be prepared to sign-up for tours as soon as registration is open. If you are unable to register for the tour, add your name to the waitlist in case of cancellations. Emails regarding last-minute Tour information and openings for waitlisted individuals will come from Eventbrite and If you wish to purchase your own radio, the Club is using the Motorola Talkabout T800 radios. These are sold in pairs through Amazon for about $85.00. These radios are FRS/GMRS compatible, have 22 channels and 121 privacy codes (or sub-channels). Upcoming Events 2/8/2024 - Dinner at Mankas Grill, See the Recurring Events section for details. 2/10/2023 - Air-cooled Tour, Do you own an "Air-cooled Porsche" or know someone who does? If yes, then join us with your 356, 914, 912, or early 911 for an exciting tour leaving from the Buttercup in Walnut Creek, and stopping at Canepa in Scott's Valley. While at Canepa's, we'll have a tour of the workshop where some of the most skilled mechanics and body men preserve some of the most historically significant road cars. We'll also visit the Canepa Motorsport Museum, which is dedicated to the spirit of automobile and motorcycle competition. We'll depart Canepa's and travel North on Highway 9 and then along Highway 35 (Skyline) to Woodside's famous "Alice's Restaurant" for lunch (out of pocket). Priority will be given to air-cooled cars (1998 or earlier), but we expect to have space for some water-cooled cars (sign up early).
